Each year the ecumenical community calls us to a time of prayer for unity. Paul writes to the Ephesians (recorded in chapter 4) saying

I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: 4 there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

The week of prayer is January 18-25, 2023. And the theme is found in Isaiah 1:12-18, specifically verse 17, “Do good; seek justice.” 

Central Mary Ecumenical Council (CMEC) will be hosting various denominations to explore their response to this theme, and/or introduce us to their faith, and/or engage us in prayer and/or praise of God. Our faith-filled denominations provide a rich tapestry on which God, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit are woven such that all can be supported, encouraged, and celebrated.
